Senate Republicans are preparing to bypass the TRUMP administration with new sanctions targeting Russia if Vladimir Putin refuses to engage in ceasefire negotiations. Over 80 senators support legislation that would impose financial penalties on nations conducting business with Moscow and prohibit U.S. citizens from purchasing Russian sovereign debt.

Lindsey Graham, the bill’s architect, emphasized urgency: "We are waiting to see what Russia does this coming week. If we can get a ceasefire, great. If not, we act." The WHITE House remains cautious, fearing escalated measures could derail potential diplomacy.
